Asset Searches

When you don't know where a Judgment Debtor's assets are located, an asset search is necessary. From our experience the most common hiding places for assets are:

    Under aliases

In safe deposit boxes with relatives, friends and partners

    In offshore/foreign accounts

    Overpaying the IRS

In a universal life insurance policy

    In stockbroker accounts

    Overpaying credit cards

Ownership of cars, yachts, aircraft, jewelry

Purchase of savings bonds, travelers and cashier's checks

For the successful collection of a judgment you may only need to locate real property or you may need to make an extensive search. Our ready access to data bases, combined with field investigation, equals success.

Pre litigation asset evaluations are a valuable tool when determining whether or not to file an action against a person or business entity. Also, asset evaluations are a valuable tool when determining if additional assets are available prior to accepting policy limits or pursuing a subrogation action.
